'Marking Tomorrow'

Marking Tomorrow takes place in Frank Winters 2008 New York studio apartment. Jac was hired as the Set Decorator to make sure the sound stage space be filled authentically. The tone was to feel dingy, isolated, cluttered, and hopeless. The studio apartment is broken down into sections: Main Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Hallway, and Bathroom.

The 'Main' Room

In this section of the apartment you get a peek into Franks life. You can see he doesn't put laundry away, his bed isn't pleasant, and his life is cluttered in dark, bleak colors. In the top right corner you can see a dying plant that represents how Frank feels about life.

The Kitchen

The kitchen was inspired by photos Jac saw of the Rolling Stones first apartment. Dishes were made dirty and left sitting with brown water. Dirty paper towels and bread crumbs sat on the counter and floor. The fridge was decorated in New York inspired magnets, sticky's note memos saying things like  "Call Sponsor Jim", and newspaper clipping.

The Hallway

The hallway was meant to feel lived in and on the go. Frank leaves his work coats and every shoe he owns by the door. He's left flowers to rot, empties his pockets to place nails and screws onto the table, and a tie he wore once months ago. Throughout the apartment you would also find cigarette buds and ash placed around.

The Dining Area

All the curtains and wall decor you see was placed by Jac and her set dressing team. The table was covered in movie dust and Jac took on the role of On-Set Dresser during the dining room shots due to a lot of food and paper dressing used in these moments.

The Bathroom

The bathroom was all about the details. Jac made two custom pill bottles for Franks liver and depression issues. A dish rag was used as a bath mat.

Another POV

In this shot, Frank had succumb to drinking again. On the floor you can see the throw-up Jac had placed and the fallen lamp "Frank" threw over. From this angle you can see more details of his side table, phone book table, and the size of the apartment.
